I'm about to get a 3000, and I was wondering what hard cases were best for protection. I want to make sure it lasts a long time, without getting scratches.
Ive had a soft case for a few years and it works fine, i have seen some nice hard cases though.....
Anything made of hard plastic/metal etc. If you look around a bit you can probably find a decent one for 10 or 15 bucks. Good to make sure it holds it tight and doesn't shake around inside the case. Saved my PSP more than a few times..

Other than the case i suggest the extended handle grip thingy as it makes playing lengthy games such as Crisis Core much more comfortable(idk, i have big hands, so the psp makes my hands cramp up pretty easily).
A case umm a screen protector.
Hard case - I recommend the PGP for the 2000 from Logitech (it's actually labelled that way). It also comes with a plastic template so that you can cut out pictures to put inside the case to customize it.USB/Power cable - Get one that has both a power and mini-usb connector. That way you can charge the PSP from a computer while playing it. Otherwise you need to put it into USB mode before you can charge the PSP.

a soft case if ur getting a 3000series and a hard case(logitech) if ur getting the 2000 series i was shocked to see a lot of scratches on the back of my psp(2004).

me too pgp or silicon case and a hard case on psp2000. dont buy crystal case. it sucks.
go for one of those ''indestructible'' polycarbonate cases (really strong plastic case) which can take anything you throw at it or use a soft case if you just want a type of minimal protection for keeping in your pocket or something like that. Also get the extra battery as you mentioned a high storage memory stick ( 4 GB+) and get a sony psp headset; or earphones if your trying to be more compact.
I've got a very soft case thing, and NOTHING else, you don't really need anything trust me.

Mine's a PSP-1000 yup, nice and fat; zero scatches and in mint condition battery still lasts me hours and hours, don't even have headphones =S
I have soft cases I bought from Wal Mart and they work great. I also recommend UMD cases and extra batteries and you should be all set.
hmmk from what im hearing is that i need : A case (probably soft), stronger battery, and just because i know i will want my PSP to be a media whore, i'll probably get a 4GB (no way am i gonna get a 8GB for 70 bucks!!!) i really appreciate the help guys!! btw, im freakin addicted to CC: FF7 :)

i've seen a lot of people who just got their psp and already love CC: FF7
Buy a case, the screen can really F up, and stay away form UMD movies try buying movies from itunes and download them to your PSP.;)..alos tou made a right chocie in getting FVIII CC trying getting daxter that game is dirt cheap and good.
A good pair of headphones psp doesn't have the best quality of sound... A case and a screen protector(I have too many scratches :( ).. A PSP docking station to listen to your music better if you wan't.. UMD movies if you can find them cheap and a nice strap for it so it doesn't slip out of your hands when your playing it... Thats about all I can think of...
