onlline Multiplayer/web browser question
so can someone explain how online multiplayer works? what is required to play online? So far i understand u need wifi which comes built into the psp and u have to pay for it monthly. or if you have a airport wireless thingy, which i have, and you can just connect ur psp to that and play online? please help! thanks!onlline Multiplayer/web browser question

I haven't bought a psp game since Crisis Core and i was thinking about buying SW : The Force Unleashed. Go out and buy GoW used, beat it then buy SW. GoW, I heard, can be completed in like 5 hours easily. You can probably finish it a few times in a week to get your fill of GoW. Most likely after beating it a few times, you won't really go back to it, at least not for a while. If you actually feel like playing it again, just go buy it used later and return it after your desires were satisfyed.

Havnt got a PSP yet i will at Xmas but there are a lot of upcoming RPG's that are coming out in 2009.
And i still havnt got to play FF:CC and the other huge amount of RPG's that the PSP has.

Monster hunter 2G
Is monster hunter 2g good.Im plainning on buying it but I dont know how to read japanise but I know how to play monster hunter freedom2 good so will I have a hard time learning to play.Monster hunter 2G
You'll have trouble making items and armor thats for sure...Monster hunter 2G
you should get a paper and a pen and write down everything you get from the monster so you will not be so hard to get a new armour

Well, it is good but it is only a slightly updated version of MHF2.
I know that thee is an english translation patch but I am unsure of whether it will work with UMD as opposed to ISO/CSO.
Also,If you don't have the japanese version of MHF/japanese game save then you will not be able to import it into 2G; You wil have 2 start again!
If MHF2 was given around 7/10 (EG) then this would be about 8.5 out of 10. (Not a lot of differnce to MHF but still an improvement!)

2g and the american freedom 2 is the same up to a bit im quite sure. its like wow. say in wow you get to lvl 60 in regular wow. then in the expansion you can go up to lvl 70. 2G is kind of like that. you can play up to a really high rank in freedom 2. and then in 2G you can go just that little bit higher, and get just those few pieces of better armor. might as well just play freedom 2 first. it already can take a huge chunk of your time anyways.

so, I bought a 2gb memory stick to upgrade from my 1gb. would you consider this enough space to put games and movies from the ps store?Is this enough?
I have a 2GB and I'm happy with it. I don't plan on downloading a lot of games or movies yet. You may have to upgrade in the future, but for now you're probably fine, especially since the larger cards are quite expensive.Is this enough?

Patapon winning 2 awards
I always loved this game. I put so many hours in beating this game and just playing it for fun. It was incredible experiance and It has been such a long time since I had fun playing a video game. It's usually third in popularity after GoW and CC but not in the ratings always been tied for first. I don't think it will win best PSP game of the year but its pretty damn amazing for it to be winning 2 awards for 2008.Patapon winning 2 awards

JRPG English Language Options
I've seen a lot of JRPG's that are highly recommmended here, particularly those that have only been released in Japan or Europe. Toddlers and PSP
How would one keep toddlers way from a PSP without making it more interesting? Toddlers and PSP

Tell them its a mind control device and that you will make them eat all thier vegetables if they dont keep thier grimy little fingers off it...lol. idk. just play it while thier napping. I think if you have a toddler then you probably dont have much time to game anyways.
My son spilled apple juice in mine so I would hide it. I had to take the cover off and clean it with a q tip and yes finger prints and smudges all over the screen.

My 5 month old son is amazed by my psp. He sees it and all he wants to do is get it in his mouth. lol he's not mobile yet so not really a problem but he will whine as long as he can see it so I keep it out of sight. lol
You should buy them a DS before they get to old.

If some girls are just as nerdy as me they would love some fighting games like Street Fighter Alpha Max. A RPG game that is funny and challanging like Disgaea Afternoon Of Darkness. For a racing game I would reccomend either Burnout Legends or Wipeout Pulse. My little sister love playing the games listed above:P I also got my little cousin hooked on DJ Max Portable 2.

I rarely pay more than $20 and often play only $10 for games. I got the Silver PSP 2000 within a week of launch and my collection has grown quickly with games from racing, sports, puzzle, FPS, arcade. I've been waiting ages for a GT release for the PSP. But I think Sony doesn't really care about the PSP nowadays. I haven't replaced my UMD disc currently in my psp for a while since it lacks so many great games.Some great titles have been named already but it isn't that much.

I have to agree with Elfimis and say that there are indeed a lot of decent games for the PSP, but I can see where the sentiment is coming from about the lack of games. What I think it is, is a lack of the main PS3 exclusives having a PSP version of the same game.... The PS2 has seen 2 God of War games, with the PSP only having one visit and an imminent PS3 version coming. Why haven't they done more with Kratos on the handheld? I'm also very surprised that they haven't got some sort of PSP LBP going too.... OK, so it's never going to be as large in scope as the main game, but surely a scaled down version with some ''mini-game'' type levels could be downloaded to the PSP from the main PS3 game, even if we have to wait for an actual full full PSP LBP game.And don't get me started on the lack of Gran Turismo.... that is way, way overdue for the PSP.The PSP is definitely a great machine, but all of it's great games are ones that are out/have been out for some time. I think it's the lack of stuff on the horizon that makes it seem a little bleak right now...

I Need An Update
So, basically...I haven't used my PSP in over two years. I'm a full-time student and a part-time Lifeguard. There's no time to hang out with friends, let alone play video games. Anyway, I was cleaning out my drawers a week ago and I found it. I did a Network Update just to see how much things have changed (I was surprised).I sold all of my games (GTA, Ridge Racer, NFS) but now that I got a chance to play with it (winter break, whew) I want to get into gaming again. I figure you guys would be the ones to help me out. I saw your Top 20 games pinned topic thingy, but I can only afford to buy one or two games right now.I'm thinking Tekken and Killzone. PSP's game lineup..fail
Is it just me or is the PSP's lineup really really lacking in anything good? I mean we have some really great ones like Silent Hill Origins, Crisis Core, GoW: Chains of Olympus, Monster Hunter Freedom 2 and Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles (Only because of the Symphony of the Night port in it) but most of the games that do come out for PSP are just ports of old PS1, SNES games and stuff. I am looking forward to the psp Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy Dissidia, Final Fantasy Agito XIII and Parasite Eve 3, but we don't ever really get big name games. I've love to see a new Resident Evil game or Fatal Frame on the PSP..Ports are good, cause it gives us a chance to play the classics but I'd still like some big name release. Even the frickin DS has more games then the PSP does, no wonder it's winning the handheld gaming war right now..PSP's game lineup..fail

i was wondering i aready have a DS and i wanted to know if i shoud get a psp too some of the games look really good. im really into rpg's and puzzle games and really original and cool visual style games kinda like what patpapon looks like and i dont care about multiplayer on a handheld system . i what i want an honest answer i dont want a buch of psp fanboys saying things like YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!! i want a true opinion from someone who has played both a psp and a ds and if they think $200 for a psp would be worth it for me. oh and i also have a ps3 shoud i but a PSP?

u should if you want an all out entertainement center in your pocket because you can play ames watch movies download movies in it and to it songs and other things including being able to use the internet if you have a wireless access.
I've had a PSP and a DS lite, and I would recommend the PSP. It has a bigger screen, better graphics, more entertainment options than just games, and it fits more comfortably in my hand. (My hands would cramp up trying to play Final Fantasy IV on the DS -- stupid not having stylus control for it ... ) But it depends on whether the system you want has games that you will play. If there aren't PSP games you want, it probably won't be a good buy for you.
I actually find the analog numb a pain in the ass and the library of games for the PSP much weaker than the DS but the fact that you can watch movies, play music, browse the net and etc, it's a win. If I were you I'd think about it. If your in for the games, then go ahead but if you aren't and if there only is a handful of games you want to play, I say don't.

It's true that PSP has a smaller library than DS, but the quality of games is still quite high, especially in RPG and Puzzle categories. I've had a DS for longer, but I've passed it off to my wife. You can find a lot of threads here that will have game suggestions. And as has been mentioned above, you can watch movies, listen to music, etc. Totally worth the cash.

I have a psp and a ds! so I hope this is what you are looking for. As of now I enojoy the psp a lot more then my ds. On my ds I only have like 4 games that I am not in to. On my psp I got 16 GREAT games! The psp has a lot more features then the ds. You can get pictures on it, get video ( if you decide to get it I will tell you some good sites already in psp format ), Also music and internet! I can do all of these things on my psp so I love it very much. If you do decide on getting a psp the here are some games I loved: final fantasy 7 crisis core, socom fireteam bravo 2, medal of honor heros, jeanne d'arc, god of war chains of ollympus, and final fantasy tactics. The graphics are superior, plus you have the extra media functions. Watching movies/videos on the little widescreen is good when travelling. The disadvantages of the PSP include the short battery life and the poor game selection in retail stores. You may have to shop online or in used game stores to get what you want.

PSP 3000 video quality?
I can get a 3000 PSP for like 75 dollars and I'm wondering if it's worth it. I've heard some bad things about the resolution on the screen. Right now I have the 1000 (first model) and everything works fine. I wanted to upgrade for the video output and skype. Does anyone know how the video output looks on a TV? I don't have a really good HDTV. It's only 720p but I figure that option is useful. Also skype would be a plus. Does anyone have the 3000 and could give me the pros and cons?PSP 3000 video quality?

Miami Vice plays a lot like RE4. Except, instead of shooting villagers and cows, you shoot drug dealers.

sry about the ton of exclamation points and at sighns but i really need ure help.i want to buy a psp. i was goign to get the psp 3000 untill i heard about the screen interlacing thing. but then i saw that it had this anti mirror thign that let u play outside without getting glare. i also saw it had skype mic. and better graphics( i think)i also saw the psp slim. it had no screen interlacing, u could hack it( which i have heard is very fun ), but it didnt have the anti glare thing.so now i cant decide wat type of psp i should get.i dont really care how light or heavy it is. all i care about is that it has good graphincs, maybe some good memory, and i can see wat im playing so it isnt to small screen or to dark. i was also wondering if the screen interlacing is very annoying to you guys. also if the interlacing thing happens does it slowly fade away or does it stay there untill u get out of the area or something. plz i really need ure help with this. also is hacking worth it or can u do it on the 3000? Bricked psp 3000 right out of the packag ...
I got the silver Rachet and Clank pack yesterday, and after charging it for a few hours I tried to turn it on. The little green power light turned on like it was about to start up and then it just turned off. I tried it over and over until something happened and it turned on. I was going through the menus and it suddenly froze. I turned it on again and everything seemed to be working. Then today I tried to turn it on and again the light comes on and then turns off. I'm gonna return it today for a working one. Anyone else had this problem or heard of it? Bricked psp 3000 right out of the packag ...

For some reason my psp 3000 only goes up two levels of brightness and with the charger it goes to the third level so I guess the problem is that ain't it suppose to go up to three levels of brightness and with the adapter it goes up to the fourth level. the thing with killzone is that the gameplay is fun and challenging and the online gameplay is very entertaining. LCS on the other hand can help you spend hours of your time from using your arsenal of weapons for pure mayhem or just doing stunts on a motorcycle in the middle of the bridge(the side are curved so you can use them for ramps). In either case it's hard to get bored and it's a matter of what you feel like doing.
I don't care what you say but i'd recommend CC, Gow and patapon to all psp players

I want to buy a PSP 3000 in New York as a present for my newphew that is visiting from Italy (lots cheaper here)Can he used it in Italy? You can set it how you want it. Some games feel fine like Street Fighter Alpha. But some games just feel wrong like Syphon Filter. So it's really hit and miss at what works.

Which fighter to get?
I just got a psp slim %26 lite yesterday! :D I have played tekken 5 DR at my classmates' PSPs before and i really liked it. Though I've been thinking about getting DBZ shin budokai 2 or mortal kombat unchained or Def Jam : The takeover. Your thoughts on the games please....Help is much appreciated! Which fighter to get?

monster hunter freedom 2 Help please
ok... i have a buster blade whats the quickest way to get it to a really good level i also have a red stripe but tht is not as good...also are twin blades any good as i have the giaprey + ones... I wouldn't use that Buster Blade if I were you. If I could suggest something, use a bowgun, preferably light. If you have quick enough fingers you can easily destroy any monster with one. I've managed to take down elder dragons, including Lao Shun Lung with a bowgun. It's easily my most dependable weapon. However, it can be flawed against faster foes like the Dromes and such. For those, may I suggest the hammer cause it will only take a few impacts to take them out, plus they are the most powerful melee weapons in the game. Always aim for the skull with a charge attack cause you can have a chance at making them daze for a moment..Also, ALWAYS use your Poko Farm! It always replenishes the items in it once you complete or fail a mission. It don't refill though if you just quit the mission..monster hunter freedom 2 Help please

I wouldn't use that Buster Blade if I were you. If I could suggest something, use a bowgun, preferably light. If you have quick enough fingers you can easily destroy any monster with one. I've managed to take down elder dragons, including Lao Shun Lung with a bowgun. It's easily my most dependable weapon. However, it can be flawed against faster foes like the Dromes and such. For those, may I suggest the hammer cause it will only take a few impacts to take them out, plus they are the most powerful melee weapons in the game. Always aim for the skull with a charge attack cause you can have a chance at making them daze for a moment..Also, ALWAYS use your Poko Farm! It always replenishes the items in it once you complete or fail a mission. It don't refill though if you just quit the mission..monster hunter freedom 2 Help please

Dissidia Final Fantasy Downloadable Cont ...
I recently read an article regarding downloadable content on the psp, and one of the hot topics was the possibility of downloadable content for Dissidia. I think this is a great idea, with the increase of capacity for the memory stick im sure it could handle it. When Dissidia is released in North America I will most likely have it day 1 and I would love to see more playable characters through download. D'Arc is a game made for the casual first timers in the tactical RPG department and wont provide a lot of challenge nor a lot of replay value mostly because there is NO character customization beyond equipment. U have what they give you and thats it. Having said that there IS a wide range of characters all having a unique placement in a well developed storyline that was crafted with a lot of care and devotion. Bottom line u wont see anything you haven't seen before and in fact you will probably see less, (beyond the fact that the characters are three dimensional not sprites) However the storyline is driven and interesting and will keep you awake when the action is down. My personal advice is to look in to Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness if your simply looking for a new spin on an already perfected TRPG system and you don't necessarily care much about animated sequences that more adequately get you involved in the storyline. Its got endless character customization(can play as every enemy you defeat) AND all characters go up to Level 9999! endless replay value. (Fully finished D'Arc at 60 hrs, highest lvl character in Disgaea is 90 and im at 85 hrs!) Side note Disgaea CAN be beaten at level 90 and probly in the same amount of time if u dont want to go for secret bosses and epic gear(dont have to waist your life on it like i do XD)

I am thinking of getting a PSP for myself. I am a 40 yr old who was an Atari Star! I have a Wii but don't find the time to play as much as I like! I also like some of the compilation sets like Capcom Reloaded and Remixed, Metal Slug Anthology. Most recently I have been playing Pinball on my PSP. The best one is Pinball Hall of Fame - William Collection (although the Gottlieb Collection is pretty good too).Adventure games are also fun - Final Fantasy Crisis Core and Jeanne d'Arc are my favs.There are lots of great games. I haven't regretted buying my PSP once. Have Fun !!!

K so my friend just gave me his psp and he forgot to give me the cords. So I want to know how to charge my psp on my computer or something.. i have a usb that fits in it but it wont charge even when I turn it on...Can I do that or do I just have to wait for the charger?:(Charging???

I believe only the Slim(2000 series) and Bright (3000 series) have the ability to charge via USB. If it is a 1000 series, you'll have to wait for the cords. I do not own a Slim or a Bright, but it sounds like you would need to do a firmware update to get it the ability to charge with a USB cable. However, to update your PSP you need a full charge and an AC adaptor, so if the battery is dead or near dead, you'll need to wait for the cords anyway.

Try charging it? Maybe the batteries died.
Try it without the battery in the charger, if it works your battery went bad if it still dosn't then your PSP just randomly broke.

mine likes to turn off within 2 seconds of turning it on, but i think thats probably cos i threw it a couple too many times after dieing in monster hunter... your problem sounds a bit different. Its unlikely the battery is dead already, since mine is still fine, ive used it a ton since i got it too, its also my music player *sob*. You could try asking a sony helpline... it could take a while, but if anyone knows exactly whats wrong, they should do. If all else fails, do you still have warranty?

The other day my PSP wouldn't turn on whilst the battery was in so i took it out and played it off of the mains, then i but the battery back in the next day and it worked again.

All the demos are at the playstation store,to get online you turn on the wlan on top of the psp.but you would have to pickup some type of wireless connection
Well you first need a wireless router... Kinda like your modem but you can plug more stuff at the back and usually you have some sort of antenna.. After you have that hocked up right go in system settings and go to network settings.. Have it scan for a network and it should connect fine.... You need like firmware 5.02 to have the psnnetwork on your psp so update your psp right away then delete when it tells you, you can.. And thats about it

One way is to use psp.com the official website to dowload demo games or get songs from windows media player and your pictures stored into your computer and to transfer them onto your psp device. YOu will have to connect via usb cord but you will have to buy one unless yiu have one that fits. And simply dropping and draggin the files that you want into the music, pictures, games files etc. That should help otherwise you have to go but them. Merry Christmas
