1 seg tv tuner

i was just wondering... i know that the japanese psp tuner wouldn't work in the u.s. because our television waves have been being sent out analog, but now that the switch to digital is almost here, i was wondering if maybe it would now that most television stations are broadcasting in digital. i've seen videos on youtube with people using them to pick up oxy clean commercials and episodes of family guy, but most of the menus are in espanol... i'm just curious and coulnd't find an answer, sorry if the question's already been asked and answered. i'd appreciate a link though if it has.
