You need to convert them from their original format into mp4 (SP or AVC). PSP Video 9 is a freeware converter which mostly works. There's also a bunch of pay programs that convert to the PSP (PSP Movie Creator, AVS Video Tools....).
ok buddy... like someone previously mentioned PSP VIDEO 9 is a working software. it converts many different video formats into one that your p.s.p. can understand ( which is mpeg-4 ). first you would have to get a video file of a movie ( for example 'hellboy' ). so lets just say i get the movie hellboy from anywhere and it happens to be .avi format. well, if you try to drag hellboy ( .avi format ) into the VIDEO section of your p.s.p. it will not be able to play. you have to convert that .avi format into mpeg-4 which is compatible with your p.s.p. this is done using the PSP VIDEO 9 software i supplied for you in the link above. it can take roughly 4 - 5 hours per video file depending on the quality you want the movie in ( which you can adjust using the software ), as well as the length of the video file itself. once it's been converted into mpeg-4 you can drag it into the VIDEO section of your p.s.p. and enjoy the movie. now, i've skipped a fairly decent portion of the process, however, i haven't excluded any of the basics necessary to perform what you ask. the rest would be exploratory but i assume you're expeienced enough to the rest on your own. good luck.-- kekei genkai
cheak you documents and then click my vidios then click on the vidio that you want on your psp.then take out the memory chip(if you dont have one go buy one if you want a vidio on your psp)then put it in the coputer. then you will see something pop up on your screen so press what you want to do then something elce will pop up then dont x out anything intill it is done ;) then go to the vidio section on your psp and the vidio will be there and readdy to watch. ~sk8erboy101~

I use DVD decrypter to copy the movies from DVD to my computer while removing CSS encryption, then use handbrake to convert them to MP4 for the PSP. Works like a charm.
